The Lady of Otaria

Coverage4 out of 5Based on strategy, synergy, version, and market-intelligence coverage.
Support cards12 cards

The Lady asks two deckbuilding questions at once: can you keep three Dwarves available to cast her, and can you put your own lands into the graveyard often enough to draw Dwarves at end steps?

Commander Overview

How This Commander Plays

The Lady of Otaria wants cheap Dwarves early and controlled land sacrifice later. Three untapped Dwarves can pay the alternative cost, then each qualifying end step turns a land-to-graveyard event into a four-card Dwarf refill.

Core Game Plan

  1. Cast cheap Dwarves.
  2. Use three untapped Dwarves to help cast The Lady.
  3. Sacrifice, cycle, or destroy lands you control.
  4. Trigger The Lady on your end step and opposing end steps.
  5. Recur lands from the graveyard.
  6. Refill with Dwarves from the top four cards.
  7. Win through typal combat, land payoffs, or a verified independent combo.

Build Paths

Lands-Matter Dwarves

Use self-sacrificing lands and recursion to trigger The Lady while keeping enough Dwarves to refill.

This is land-loss value, not landfall, and the concept is not a canonical Strategy slug.
Dwarf Typal Aggro

Use cheap Dwarves to cast The Lady early, then turn repeated Dwarf draw into combat pressure.

Too many weak Dwarves can crowd out the land engine.
Land-Sacrifice Value

Use Sylvan Safekeeper, Springbloom Druid, fetch lands, and recursion pieces to trigger at multiple end steps.

The ability only triggers once per qualifying end step no matter how many lands go to the graveyard.
Treasure and Toolbox Support

Use Magda and optional Treasure cards as support for Dwarf density and mana, without importing Magda combos.

Compatible support is not the same as a commander-required Lady combo.

No verified Commander Spellbook combo specifically requiring The Lady of Otaria is imported. Treat generic Gruul, land-lock, and Magda combos as independent unless exact prerequisites prove otherwise.
