What to check for this commander
Commander context
Omnath grows every time you hold mana instead of spending it, and Landfall keeps feeding him more. His colorless identity means the deck can only use colorless cards -- and artifacts that untap on every player's turn, like Victory Chimes and Bender's Waterskin, become mana batteries he banks between turns.
Power/Toughness Scales With Unspent Mana, Recalculated Continuously
"Omnath gets +1/+1 for each unspent mana you have" is a characteristic-defining static ability that is continuously recalculated based on however much mana is currently in your mana pool at any given moment -- it is not a one-time counter-granting effect and does not require a trigger to update.
Mana Normally Empties At The End Of Steps And Phases
Under current rules, mana pools empty at the end of each step and phase as a routine game action, not as "mana burn" (which no longer exists). Without Omnath's own text, any unspent mana you have would simply go away at that point.
"Would Lose Unspent Mana" Redirects That Emptying Into Colorless Retention
Omnath's second ability replaces the normal emptying of your mana pool: instead of that mana going away, it becomes colorless and stays. Wizards' Reality Fracture release notes confirm that as long as Omnath remains under your control, you retain unspent mana as steps and phases end -- and once Omnath leaves your control, you have until the end of the current step or phase to spend it. This is what lets unspent mana -- and Omnath's power and toughness -- accumulate across turns.
Repeated-Untap Artifacts Become Multiplayer Mana Batteries
Victory Chimes and Bender's Waterskin both untap during each other player's untap step, so each can tap once on every player's turn. Normally that mana empties at the end of the step. With Omnath it is retained as colorless instead, so a single artifact banks mana across a full table rotation. This is a commander-assisted interaction, not an infinite combo.
Arcane Signet And Command Tower Produce No Mana Here
Both are colorless and legal by color identity, but official rulings say that when your commander has no colors in its color identity, their abilities produce no mana -- not even {C}. They are not ramp in an Omnath deck.
Landfall Adds Mana Directly, Not Through Casting Or Tapping
"Whenever a land you control enters, add {C}{C}" triggers off any land you control entering the battlefield -- it does not require tapping that land or any other land, and is a separate mana-producing trigger layered on top of whatever mana your lands would normally produce.
Colorless Commander Is The Most Restrictive Identity, Not The Least
Because this card's color identity is empty, the deck built around it as a commander can only include other cards whose own color identity is also empty -- lands, artifacts, and colorless spells and creatures. It cannot include any card with a colored mana symbol in its cost or rules text, or a color indicator. This is a genuinely different, and far more restrictive, deckbuilding constraint than Jace, Multiverse Architect's or Nissa, Leyline Tamer's four-color WUBR identity, and than any of the existing green Omnath variants already in repository data.
Distinct From Every Other Omnath Already In Repository Data
This card's Oracle text, mana cost, color identity, and oracle_id are all confirmed distinct from every other Omnath, Locus of X card already tracked in repository data. Nothing in this file should be read as updating, replacing, or otherwise relating to those existing records.
Colorless Mana Battery Engine
Stack repeated-untap mana artifacts with colorless ramp and land-to-battlefield effects to keep mana retained turn after turn, growing Omnath's power and toughness while using the retained mana for anything else the deck needs.
