Bre decks want controlled bursts of life gain first, then top-of-library setup and high-impact nonland cards that are good when Bre casts them during the end step.

Bre tracks the amount of life you gained this turn, not current life total, net life change, highest life total, or the number of separate gain events.

Multiple life-gain events aggregate for the same turn, and life gained before Bre entered the battlefield still counts for Bre's end-step check.

Bre's activated ability can target another creature you control; it cannot target Bre, an opponent's creature, or a noncreature permanent.

A creature given lifelink by Bre gains life from all damage it deals that turn, including combat, fight, activated, triggered, and simultaneous damage.

Bre's end-step trigger has an intervening if clause: if you did not gain life before the end step begins, the ability does not trigger.

Life gained after the end step begins does not create a missed Bre trigger, but additional life gained before an existing trigger resolves can increase the threshold.

Bre exiles lands until a nonland card is exiled; the skipped lands stay exiled.

If no nonland card is found, the rest of the library is exiled and there is no card to cast or put into hand.

If you cast the exiled card, you do so during Bre's trigger resolution and cannot save that permission for later.

Casting without paying the mana cost ignores normal timing but still requires legal targets, restrictions, cost increases, and mandatory additional costs.

Bre's free cast is an alternative cost, so overload, flashback, escape, cleave, prototype, foretell, and similar alternative costs cannot also be chosen.

Optional additional costs such as kicker, buyback, entwine, spree, casualty, and bargain can be paid if their requirements are met.

If Bre casts an X spell without paying its mana cost, X is 0 unless another current rule explicitly supplies a legal value.

No-mana-cost suspend-style cards such as Restore Balance, Wheel of Fate, Resurgent Belief, Glimpse of Tomorrow, and Rousing Refrain can be cast if Bre's permission and other rules allow them.

For modal double-faced cards and Adventures, use front-face characteristics while exiling until a nonland card, then cast only a legal spell face from exile.

Copied Bre triggers exile independently and do not increase the life-gain threshold by themselves.

Give lifelink to a high-damage creature or damage trigger, then turn the gained life into a free Bre hit.
